Aarti is an NGO working to stop the cycle of female abandonment, mistreatment, and infanticide in India and beyond. Aarti fosters and supports abandoned girls by providing them with shelter, education, and opportunities to succeed in life. Aarti feels that the best way to bring up children with difficult pasts would be by giving them an environment that is less institutionalized and more family-based. Over 650 students from disadvantaged backgrounds are currently enrolled at Aarti School.

Activate Labs facilitates collaboration, strategy, and creative problem-solving. Working with organizations and communities impacted by the issue/problem, Activate Labs seeks to build empathy and community as they find innovative solutions to challenging issues. Workshops and user-centered design sessions led by Activate Labs use a participatory and experiential design process they have created called “The Frame Design Process,” which facilitates change through the analysis, design, prototyping (pilot testing), and launching of campaigns and interventions.
Adalah’s mission is to promote human rights in Israel in general and the rights of the Palestinian minority, citizens of Israel, in particular (around 1.5 million people, or 20% of the population). This work also includes promoting and defending the human rights of all individuals subject to the jurisdiction of the State of Israel (e.g., Palestinian residents of the OPT). Adalah is the first Palestinian Arab-run legal center in Israel and the only Palestinian organization that works before Israeli courts.
The Adam Institute for Democracy & Peace was founded in 1986 to promote democratic values through education. The institute develops and implements educational programs that serve all population sectors in schools, community centers, and other facilities. Its staff consists of 70 regional coordinators, instructors, and workshop facilitators, 40 % of Arabs. The institute’s programs are active, experiential workshops that seek to turn participants into partners and to show that every issue has many sides.
Advocacy for child relief (ACR). ACR is an independent, nonpartisan, non-governmental organization that is incorporated under the laws of Uganda. Founded by a group of young Ugandan children wellness activists and professionals in response to the ever-increasing vulnerability and poverty among children and families they live in. They aim to help children who still live in poverty and without their basic rights in remote regions learn and understand their basic rights

The Aegis Trust has a clear mission – to work towards predicting, preventing, and ultimately eliminating genocide. They do this primarily through research, education, and the dissemination of information and advice. Their vision is of a world without genocide or mass atrocities. Remembering the Holocaust and responding to Kosovo led two brothers to launch the Aegis Trust in 2000. They Found out that genocide is preventable.
Afghans for Afghanistan’s Development (AFAD) Organization is a non-profit and non-government organization based in Kabul, Afghanistan. AFAD works on youth development and women empowerment in Afghanistan. They have also facilitated international exchange, providing an opportunity for the youth and women to learn from others’ experiences. They sent two batches of the Afghans working in the legislative branches of the country to visit the United States in 2014 and meet with the legislatures.
